Kim Seong-woo, an attorney at Law Office Solaris, participated as a keynote speaker at the 'PV_PPA KOREA 2025' seminar held on July 24 at EL Tower in Seocho-gu, Seoul, and presented legal strategies for PPAs (power purchase agreements) to successfully implement RE100.
This seminar brought together the government, public institutions, and major energy companies to discuss practical execution strategies for expanding solar power deployment by utilizing industrial complex rooftops and establishing a direct PPA system, and it drew some 150 industry stakeholders, making it a well-attended event.
On the day, Attorney Kim Seong-woo delivered a lecture on the theme 'Legal Issues and Dispute Cases in PPA Contracts.' Attorney Kim emphasized, "When entering into a direct PPA contract, it is very important to clearly define in advance the handling of excess power generation, damages for contract withdrawal, supply-chain liability, and other matters," and added, "Because a standard contract alone is insufficient to cover companies' diverse needs and risks, preparing a customized contract tailored to each business structure is essential."
Law Office Solaris will continue to preemptively prevent legal disputes that corporate clients may face in the complex direct PPA market and the transition to low-carbon energy, and will remain a trusted partner providing the safest and most efficient customized legal solutions.
