On July 24, Attorney Sungwoo (Goni) Kim of SOLARIS spoke as a featured speaker at the PV_PPA KOREA 2025 seminar held at L Tower in Seocho-gu, Seoul, presenting legal strategies for power purchase agreements (PPAs) that support successful RE100 implementation.
The seminar brought together government, public institutions and major energy companies to discuss practical strategies for expanding rooftop solar on industrial complexes and establishing the direct PPA system. Around 150 industry participants attended.
Attorney Kim spoke on "Legal Issues and Disputes in PPA Contracts." "In a direct PPA, it is critical to set out clearly in advance how surplus generation will be handled, what damages apply if a party walks away from the contract, and who bears supply chain responsibilities," he said. "Standard-form contracts alone cannot cover the varied needs and risks companies face, so a contract tailored to the structure of each project is essential."
